This practical resource introduces students to sequential logic through a range of practical activities.

Practical activities based around this card are provided on the digital curriculum disk provided with the trainer.

The card may also be used with optional Cloud-based software. The Cloud-based software contains theory presentations, investigations, and assessments, which link directly to the practical activities carried out using this resource.

The Card Includes the Following:
  • D-type flip-flops (x3) with LED indicators
  • J-K flip-flops (x3) with LED indicators
  • 2-input NAND gates (x2) with LED indicators
  • 2-input AND gates (x2)
  • Switched faults for fault-finding activities
Practical Tasks Include the Following:
  • Investigating a D-type flip-flop
  • Investigating a J-K flip-flop
  • Binary counter operation
  • Frequency division
  • Shift register operation
  • Ring counter operation
  • Testing and fault-finding sequential logic systems
